The story

The story tells the life of a young girl, Matilda. The musical begins with her birth and moves on to describe her unhappy upbringing as she lives with her TV-addicted family and bears their constant abuse. She is an intelligent child who loves reading even though her family believes that it is a complete waste of one’s time. Due to the abuse she faces Matilda often plays pranks on people aided by her telekinetic powers. Matilda even plays pranks on her school’s headmistress, Mrs Trunchbull whom she believes to be a bully. Soon, she develops a strong friendship with her teacher Miss Honey, who admires Matilda’s intellect and almost magical abilities. The story progresses to explore the relationship between Matilda and Miss Honey, and Matilda’s desire for freedom. To watch it all unfold, book Matilda The Musical tickets now.

I got a seat upgrade because the theatre wasn't full! But the place I was seated in before was also great despite being low cost.

Matilda was brilliant, my 9 year old absolutely loved her first west end experience. Headout made it super easy to find and book our tickets. There wasn't many seats left when I was looking, so I chose the Upper Circle, not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either, mid range at £95 each. We were all so incredibly happy with the view. I will always look to book the upper circle again when visiting this theatre, it was the perfect mix of value for money and obtaining the best view.

we liked the play and the actors. However, the experience itself was a big surprise. I have to say that I am european and we are not used to eating in a theater. In some cinemas it is ok, but it is a No-Go in a theater. So, we were very surprised to see that quasi all people were eating crisps, home made sandwiches, bananas, sweets, etc etc etc. A family in front of us were constatnly eating the forst part and at the break they bought op corn and were eating that during the second part. I would like to say that this alters the whole experience because of the smell and escpecially the noise, where the music and the words were mixed with eating, packaging noise. A big cultural gap. Now we know : ) The play was great in itself - thank you very much.
